“Faced with increasing pressure from religious groups and Catholic lawmakers in both parties over the new federal requirement for birth control coverage, the Obama administration is planning to announce an “accommodation” on Friday aimed at allaying some of the concerns of faith-driven employers.”

“One idea that has been mentioned is the “Hawaii model,” by which an employer who morally objects to contraception could opt out and inform its female employees where they can get that coverage outside of the employee health plan.”

This is ridiculous nonsensical bullshit. Fuck the church having objections to women wanting birth control, fuck the influence of the church on my government, and fuck Obama for selling out “his” beliefs again for the sake of “compromise”. The church never wants to compromise, the religious right never wants to compromise, why should the “left” compromise with them?

I am so sick of influence of the religious over my government. When people ask why I care about religion in government, it’s things like this that make me care. Here’s your answer.

The USA is NOT a fucking Christian country, never has been and hopefully never will be. Stop pushing your beliefs on other people. What is the point of invading religious theocracies abroad when so many people are trying to establish one here.

Sharia law and fucking Christian law are pretty much the same to me.
